Society has put up so many boundaries, so many limitations on what’s right and wrong that it’s almost impossible to get a pure thought out. It’s like a little kid, a little boy, looking at colors, and no one told him what colors are good, before somebody tells you you shouldn’t like pink because that’s for girls, or you’d instantly become a gay two-year-old. Why would anyone pick blue over pink? Pink is obviously a better color. Everyone’s born confident, and everything’s taken away from you.

A woman’s beauty is supposed to be her grand project and constant insecurity. We’re meant to shellac our lips with five different glosses, but always think we’re fat. Beauty is Zeno’s paradox. We should endlessly strive for it, but it’s not socially acceptable to admit we’re there. We can’t perceive it in ourselves. It belongs to the guy screaming “nice tits.”

TASTE THE RAIN

Artist Anna Gillespie - “All these works try to express a moment of connection to nature and this particular piece is about trying to draw the viewer into recalling what it feels like to stand out in the rain and engage their senses.”

Taste the Rain is part of an on going series of work using material that has fallen from trees: acorns, beechnut casings, leaves, bark, sycamore keys

OKAY WAIT BEFORE YOU GO FOR THIS!- someone who knows more than me about this- does this method work?
My only experience is with Queen anne’s lace- but this looks more accessible and easier to prepare/obtain. I’ve heard of Vitamin C being used before, but don’t know anyone who has used it.
I know the parsley trick does work- most of the time. Sometimes it doesn’t. Its kind of a gamble. I don’t know the rates that it fails, but anecdotal evidence points to it being low.
